Funny Shooter 2 is a cartoon first-person shooter by the developer GoGoMan, released in August 2022 as a much bigger follow-up to the original Funny Shooter. You stand in bright, oddly coloured fields and gun down waves of strange red creatures, earn gold for every level you clear, and spend it on a growing arsenal. It runs in a desktop browser and on phones and tablets.

Who you are fighting

The enemy roster grows as you play. Ordinary red men make up the first waves; toilet-headed men and towering giants join later, along with other odd creatures. A fresh enemy type turns up every few levels, and every tenth level ends with a boss: a huge figure with its own health bar across the top of the screen. The bosses in the game's screenshots include a horned red brute and a spiky skeleton-chested monster standing in a field of purple or teal grass with wrecked buses propped on posts in the background.

The bottom of the screen shows your current weapon with its magazine and spare rounds, your grenade count and a bar of numbered weapon slots, with locked slots marked by a padlock. Your health and your gold sit in the top-left corner, and a small round map fills the top-right corner.

Gold, the shop and upgrades

Gold is the currency for everything. In the shop you can buy new guns and then fit them with attachments such as scopes and silencers or change their look, so two players can end up with quite different loadouts. The achievements screen is a second income source: each milestone you reach has a gold reward waiting to be claimed. The home screen also offers upgrades for the rocket launcher and the grenade launcher, and both are meant to speed up your progress through the levels.

Tips

• Check the achievements screen between runs. Unclaimed rewards are easy gold that many players forget to collect.
• Keep a few grenades for the boss levels; the boss is a large target for a throw with G.
• Reload with R during quiet moments rather than waiting for the magazine to run dry with enemies close.
• Expect a boss on every tenth level and go in with full ammo and grenades.
